On August 16th, the Diamond League will come back to the Silesian Stadium. - The Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial is a great opportunity to stay in Poland for a while – those are words of invitation coming from the Olympic medalist Natalia Bukowiecka.
Ever since Silesia received a spot on the Diamond League calendar, it can count on the presence of not just the greatest stars of athletics. Along with them, our country is now visited in greater numbers by the fans of the sport, who, apart from the visit to the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, get a chance to get better acquainted with Poland.
August 16th, 2025, the date of the next edition of what was the best athletics meeting in the world last year, is excellent timing, as it coincides with a long weekend, thanks to the national holiday being celebrated the day before.
– I travel around the country as an athlete and I know how much it has to offer. So much, in fact, that when the season is over, I wish to revisit the places and get to know them without time pressure. The fans coming to the stadium are in a more comfortable position. It will be even easier this time, as they will get three days off work, rather than two – said Natalia Bukowiecka, Olympic medalist from Paris in the 400 metres.
Bukowiecka, along with the javelin star Maria Andrejczyk, star in the advertising campaign of the Polish Tourism Organisation. The Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial has joined the campaign, the goal of which is to promote the beauty of the country.
– This is not a matter of decency. It is a question of how great the place where we live is – Andrejczyk stated.
The Olympic silver medalist from Tokyo recommends a visit to Podlasie, where she grew up. It is a place renowned for peace and quiet, which, combined with the richness of nature, offer the perfect sense of comfort. Bukowiecka points to Warmia and Masuria as a potential place to visit for fans of athletics. The land of a thousand lakes gives infinite possibilities for active recreation. Especially so in the summer, which is exactly when the world's top athletes will arrive in Poland.
Silesia, the Polish stop on the Diamond League tour, is an excellent starting point.
– We are lucky to live here. You only need to spend a short time travelling to discover Poland. It is just as big a draw as the sport – Andrejczyk stated.
See you in Poland in 2025!
We now know that the 2025 edition of the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial will again take place in August.
– It is not by accident that the 2025 edition of the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial will take place on August 16th. It is the perfect time to book a trip to the region in advance. The long weekend can be used for visiting Silesia or the country as a whole. – Silesia is really beautiful, I love Masuria region where I live. From Silesia is quite close and easy to visit beautiful old town Krakow. Believe me, athletics is just one of many attractions available in Poland – Natalia Bukowiecka stated.
